Welcome To Lake LBJ Home of KT Waterfront Construction!
Welcome to Lake LBJ, one of America’s most beautiful waterways and home to KT Waterfront Construction and KT Commercial Divers. Named after President Lyndon B. Johnson, Lake LBJ is part of the Highland Lakes chain of lakes that runs through the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Running approximately 21 miles long from Inks Lake upriver to the Wirtz Dam near Horseshoe Bay on the southern end, Lake LBJ is a premier destination for those who love boating, fishing, watersports and water activities.
The Highland Lakes, which includes Lake LBJ, is managed by the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) and is considered a constant level or pass-through lake, utilized to generate electricity through a series of dams. The constant level of Lake LBJ makes it very desirable for homeowners as the water level remains relatively constant even in periods of drought. A constant level lake does not mean it is not susceptible to flooding as evidenced by the historic October 2018 flood. This constant level status allows KT Waterfront Construction to build stationary boat docks built on a foundation of pipe pilings driven to resistance in the bedrock. Docks on Lake LBJ are not floating docks like those found on most lakes in Texas. These stationary docks tend to be larger, more stable and less susceptible when flooding does occur.
Lake LBJ draws visitors and second homeowners year-round from Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, west Texas and Austin. One of the most popular lakes in Texas, Lake LBJ is perfect for those interested in fishing, boating, floating and relaxing by the water. Anglers will find moderate density largemouth and Guadalupe bass populations as well as white bass, catfish and crappie. Several guide services are available for those unfamiliar with the lake. Boaters will love Lake LBJ whether they plan to pull tubers, water ski, wake surf or wakeboard. Boat rental businesses are available for those who wish to rent a boat or personal watercraft while public boat ramps are available for boat owners. Those wishing to simply enjoy the peaceful life on the lake, several resorts, small hotels, multiple RV parks and hundreds of vacation rentals are available to meet every travelers’ needs.
The Texas Hill Country surrounding Lake LBJ and the Highland Lakes offers endless opportunities for entertainment and adventure. Several state parks are available for camping and hiking. Longhorn Caverns are close by and offer guided tours. For those interested in hitting the links, golf courses are plentiful and towns such as Marble Falls and Llano are great for those who want to go shopping.
